Day 1 in the Books!

What a day!  After landing in Las Vegas, and meeting our amazing guides Jake and Zack, we immediately began our adventure.  We ate lunch overlooking some dramatic rock outcroppings at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area.  After finishing, Jake and Zack took us to one the parks trails, where we hiked for two hours.  The gang was challenged by a trail meanderring through a beautiful red canyon.  We climbed over rocks and sand, but it was all worth it in the end.  We were treated to an amazing view of the park with the Las Vegas Strip in the distance.

Following a return to the car, we travelled northeast out of Nevada, through Arizona, to Utah.  Although we arrived at our current location, just outside of Zion National Park, in the dark, we were promised by Jake and Zack to wake up to one of the more priceless views of the trip.  With our stomachs full, the students, guides, and chaperones are calling it a night, preparing for another action packed day tomorrow.  See tomorrow's itinerary below.
